Phil McCarthy fed the output of a random polygon generator into some facial recognition software, mutated the polygons, and selected those “fittest” polygon groups that looked most face-like. The result is pareidoloop, and the results, like the image below, are a bit eerie.
It reminds me a lot of Roger Alsing’s genetic algorithm that evolves towards the Mona Lisa, which was later implemented in JavaScript and Canvas by Jacob Seidelin.
